Event Information

Part 3 of the Kensington Valley Triathlon Series promises to be one of the premier sprint triathlons in the state. Supported by topnotch finish line food provided by O'Callaghans. We will see you at Island Lake a favorite training for many of us. Come out and beat your time from the June event. 800m swim, 12.5 mile bike, 3.1 mile run. All entered athletes will have their shot at a Giant Trinity 2 Tri Bike valued at $1400!!

Aide Station Information

There will be aide stations at the following locations:
#1 - Transition Area - There will be gallons of water and cups in the transition area for race morning. Athletes can fill their water bottles or have a last minute drink of water.
#2 - Bike Course - There will be one aide station on the bike course, located in the back of the park near Island Lake (Dodge Shelter). It will be stocked full of Gatorade. The station will also have purified water.

Course Information

Swim Course 800m

The swim will take place at Kent Lake located in the northeast corner of the park. The course will swim in triangular clockwise pattern, starting and finishing by the beach area.


Bike Course 12.5 miles (all paved)

The bike course will begin in the main parking lot just south of the beach/transition area. The course starts by making a right out of the parking lot staying on the main and only park road-heading west. The course has a few flat sections but mainly consists of small hills and sweeping turns. Course will continue for 5.5 miles till a turn around point and aid station at Island Lake and Dodge shelter area (refer to map). Heading back athletes will go pass the beach/transition area, heading towards the Hickory shelter for another turn around. This end section ads on the remaining 1.5mi to complete the 12.5 bike course.


Run Course 3.1 miles

The run course beginning out of the transition area will go to the right it is a two loop course with 80% grass trail 20% paved conditions. It has a few steep hills down by the lake and is flat on the top on the south end of the course. Their will be one aid station that will be past twice by each athlete. The race will end by the canoe launch area to the west of the transition area.

Refund Transfer Policy

Element Events Inc. will offer a 50% refund on your entry fees (not including your Active.com fee) for all athletes registered before July 1st, 2008. All refund request must be submitted in writing by July 1st, 2009 to:

Element Events will offer a transfer policy on upcoming 2009 events. Your transfer will NOT be accepted for 2010 events. $20 will be charged to transfer your entry among any of the 2009 Kensington Valley Triathlon Series events. Athletes are NOT allowed to sell or gift their registration to another

Cancellations
In accordance with Element Events Inc., park officials, city officials and local law enforcement has the authority to cancel any of the events for emergency purposes such as, but not limited to, inclement weather. If such emergency conditions force cancellation, refunds cannot be provided since funds will have been spent in preparation for Race Day. T-shirts will be distributed.
